WA Ni-Cu-PGE

Narryer

The Narryer Terrane forms part of the Western Yilgarn Craton margin which hosts the recently discovered, world-class Julimar Ni-Cu-PGE Project. This new discovery by Chalice Mining Ltd and the presence of numerous Ni-Cu-PGE occurrences along a >1,000km strike length defines the West Yilgarn Ni-Cu-PGE Province – a highly prospective new exploration frontier now subject to intense exploration activity.

This setting underscores the pedigree of Buxton’s 100% owned Narryer Project where the Company controls over 2,000 km2 of contiguous tenure within an essentially unexplored yet highly prospective region of this emerging Province.  Within the northern Narryer Terrane, orthomagmatic ultramafic intrusive rocks akin to Julimar occur at least three separate intrusions (Imagi, Moonborough and Milly Milly).

Since commencing exploration in late 2020, Buxton has completed a regionally extensive 1-km spaced ground gravity survey (Figure 2), a highly targeted 2566.6-line km Airborne EM survey (Figure 3), geological reconnaissance / geochemical sampling (Figure 4) and stakeholder liaison.

Integrated interpretation of the new and historic datasets has identified multiple high priority anomalies, several of which were selected for follow-up with Moving Loop Ground EM in early 2023 (Figure 3).

Buxton is currently finalising a Heritage Protection Agreement with the Wajarri Yamaji Aboriginal Corporation to facilitate commencement of drill testing activities.

Figure 4: At the Ministry Prospect Buxton’s geological reconnaissance has identified coincident Ni & Cu in rock chips sampling a subcopping ironstone.  The Ministry Prospect is located above a bedrock airborne EM anomaly which was initially detected by the AusAEM survey, and later confirmed by Buxton’s HelitTEM2 survey.
